Terms & Conditions
Last updated 15 January 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms govern your access to and use of the SUUQ ONLINE (U) LTD classifieds and mini-shop platform (the “Platform”). By creating an account, posting an ad, sending a message or browsing the site you agree to be bound by them.
2. Nature of the Platform
- SUUQ mainly acts as a digital marketplace that connects buyers and independent sellers.
- Unless clearly indicated otherwise, SUUQ is not the seller of items on the Platform and does not take ownership of goods listed by users.
- Contracts, payments, delivery and returns are usually agreed directly between buyer and seller.
3. Definitions
- Platform – the website and mobile interfaces operated by SUUQ ONLINE (U) LTD.
- User – any person using the Platform (buyer, seller or visitor).
- Customer / Buyer – a user who responds to an ad or purchases an item.
- Seller / Vendor – a user who posts listings or operates a SUUQ shop.
- Halal & Permissible Goods – only products that are halal and compliant with Islamic law and local regulations may be listed.
4. Account & Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old or have guardian consent.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your password secure.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.
5. Listings & Content
- All information in your listing must be truthful, accurate and not misleading.
- You may list only items you have the right to sell and that are halal and legal in Uganda.
- Prohibited items include (but are not limited to) weapons, drugs, alcohol, adult content, stolen goods and counterfeit products.
- SUUQ may edit, hide or remove listings that break our rules or receive serious complaints.
6. Deals, Payments & Delivery
- Buyers and sellers are responsible for agreeing on price, payment method, meeting place and delivery.
- Unless a specific SUUQ service is clearly mentioned, SUUQ does not guarantee or insure payments, delivery or the condition of items.
- For your safety, we encourage in-person inspection in public places and caution when sending money in advance.
7. Marketplace Vendors & Shops
Some users operate more formal shops on SUUQ. In many cases SUUQ functions as an agent or broker connecting buyers and such vendors – a model compatible with the Islamic Wakālah (agency) principle. The vendor remains the seller of record and is responsible for product quality, warranties and after-sales support.
8. Returns & Disputes
Returns, exchanges and refunds are primarily handled between buyer and seller. SUUQ may provide tools and guidance, and may take action against users who repeatedly abuse the Platform, but is not a party to most sales contracts. See our Returns & Disputes page for more details.
9. Limitation of Liability
- SUUQ is not liable for any loss, damage or fraud arising from deals made between users, except where required by law.
- Vendors are liable for counterfeit, harmful or consistently defective goods and shall indemnify SUUQ ONLINE (U) LTD against related losses.
10. Intellectual Property
All Platform content, trademarks and logos are owned by SUUQ or its licensors. You may not copy, modify or use them except as allowed by law or with our written permission.
11. User Conduct
- Do not use the Platform to harass, abuse or defame others.
- Do not post spam, scams or content that promotes illegal activity.
- Do not attempt to hack, scrape or reverse-engineer the Platform.
12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Uganda. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of Kampala, without prejudice to any mandatory rights you have under local consumer law.
13. Changes
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Changes will take effect once posted on the Platform. If you continue to use SUUQ after changes take effect, you are deemed to have accepted the updated Terms.
